Apple Photos Unveils Revolutionary AI Editing Tools in iOS 18
With the iOS 18 update, Apple will refresh its apps. The updated Apple Photos app is rumored to offer Photoshop-level editing capabilities using generative AI.
Furthermore, the new logo for Apple’s “Let Loose” event on its website is interactive. You can erase parts or the entire logo with a finger gesture or mouse, and the logo refreshes as you interact with it.
Initially, this led to speculation about a connection to the Apple Pencil, but it may also indicate the advanced editing features Apple plans to introduce in the Photos app.
Apple Photos will make it easier to delete unwanted objects
In the pre-release version of macOS 15, a new feature called “Clean Up” was discovered in the Photos app, positioned alongside existing filters, adjustments, and cropping options. This feature appears to replace the traditional Apple retouching tool. However, unlike the retouching tool, the “Clean Up” feature allows users to remove larger objects from the photo, offering more advanced editing capabilities.
With the “Clean Up” tool, users can select an area of the photo using a brush tool and remove unwanted objects. The size of the brush is adjustable, facilitating the removal of both smaller and larger objects.
It remains to be seen whether this new feature, which simplifies the removal of unwanted objects in Apple’s Photos app, will debut with the iOS 18 update or be used to promote new iPad models.
